Before my ending, there was a beginning. I was born on August 09, 1942, to
the late Will and Alma Coleman in Richmond, Va.
Growing up with my siblings, Henry Lee Coleman, Margaret Elizabeth Moore
and Jackie Coleman—we thoroughly enjoyed life and each other’s company. I
accepted Christ early, becoming an active member of Johnson Tabernacle CME
Church, serving as an usher.
At an early age I relocated to New York City for several years where I studied
cosmetology. I enjoyed many summers there when my niece (Wanda) and
nephews (Craig & Marc) would often visit. Later in life, my true love Robert (Bill)
Jackson came to New York and brought me back to Greenfield where we got
married and enjoyed a very successful and loving relationship along with his 3
children Carla (Vincent) Skates, Ken (Justina) Jackson and the late Marlo Jackson
of whom I treasured dearly.
I loved my family, church, and friends deeply and although I was very private, I
would do anything for those who asked. I cherished and I adored my nephews
Craig Coleman (Penny) Moore, Marc Anthony (Michelle) Moore, and niece Wanda
Kay (James) Moon, as well as my grandchildren, great nieces and nephews and
great-great nieces and nephews. I instilled in them strong character and God-
fearing values.
On June 26, 2025, God saw that I was weary and whispered, “Betty, it’s time,
come and rest.” I am at peace now, reunited with my husband Robert Lee
Jackson, my dad, my mother and my best friends (my siblings) as well as other
family members that have preceded me in death.
Though I cannot share in life's blessings any longer, I leave you love and
prayers for happiness. Put God first in everything you do, and know I am at peace
and free from pain.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday July 2, 2025 at 1 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Greenfield.
Burial to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12 noon.
