David Wayne Dunning

April 11, 1965 ~ February 3, 2025 (age 59) 59 Years Old

David Dunning Obituary

Mr. Dunning, 59, originally from Gleason, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2025 in hospice care in Jackson, TN after a long battle with cancer.  He was a current resident of Medina, Tennessee for the last 21 years and worked at US Farathane in Jackson, Tennessee, as an EHS manager for the last 3 years, Conagra Foods for 7 years, and prior to that he served his country for 21 years, 8 months in the US Navy.  Mr. Dunning began his Navy Career in April of 1984, attending recruit training in Orlando, Florida. He served multiple tours of duty on both the U.S.S. Hewitt and the U.S.S Tarawa during peacetime and the Gulf War while stationed in San Diego, California. He was an esteemed Naval Air Technician, and earned the honor of teaching recruits at NAS in Pensacola, Florida. He retired with full honors in 2005. 

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Gleason First Baptist Church with visitation beginning at 10 A.M. until the service at 1:00 P.M. with graveside to follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Gleason. 

 He is survived by his wife of 30 years, April Ennis Dunning, his children Elizabeth Dunning Markling from previous marriage (Stephen) who resides in Parker, Colorado and their son Cody Gandhi-Dunning (Devanshi) who resides in Saint Augustine, FL.  He is also survived by his brothers, Keith Dunning (Ramona), Jerry King, and one sister Tammy King Poiner, Step-mom, Ada Dunning, Nieces Samantha Poiner and Erika Dunning Fair (Hunter), and nephew, Justin Dunning.  Preceded in death by parents Rachel Alene Dunning and Jerry Wayne Dunning.
