Evelyn Faye Porter

Evelyn Faye Porter, age 95, passed over into the hand of Jesus, on Thursday evening January 22, 2025.  She was born Evelyn Faye Edmonds to Roy Mack and Wilsie Crockett Edmonds on October 26, 1930. For over 70 years she was a faithful and supportive wife to Jack Porter whom she married on December 4,1949. Faye was a loving mother of three children whom she loved and encouraged; and never failed to be a Godly example to them in every way.  Faye was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church in Greenfield where she played the piano for over 50 years and served in numerous other capacities as a faithful member there. She gave her life to Jesus Christ and was wholeheartedly committed to him, living out her faith unashamedly for all to see. She was a devoted homemaker and was known for her exceptional cooking ability and hospitality that she shared with guest who always felt welcomed and appreciated in her home. Faye was a very unassuming lady who never wanted the spotlight but always carried herself with grace and beauty.  Faye is survived by her three children, Larry (Teresa) Porter, Mark Porter and Tammy (Jeff) Perkins.  She’s also survived by 10 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren; leaving behind a legacy and example for her entire family to follow and carry forward.  Arrangements for her services are as follows visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Thursday at Bethel Baptist Church with Services to follow at 2:00 PM, there will be no gravesite. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Bethel Baptist Church in her honor.
