Johnny Bodkins Obituary

Johnny Wayne Bodkins age 72 of Greenfield, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.  

He was born on January 2, 1951 in Martin, Tennessee to the late John Marvin Bodkins and Minnie Pearl Winsett Bodkins. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Linda Sue Bodkins and a son in law, Michael Wayne Braden.  

A lot of people knew him as Johnny or JB, but the people who loved him the most knew him as Husband, Daddy and Papaw. He was employed for Kellwood Company for 23 years and Vincent Implements/Tennessee Tractor for 15 years where he retired. Some of the things he was best known for were raising beagles for rabbit hunting, catching catfish out of his pond, telling the funniest stories which only had parts of truth in them and being one of the most selfless human beings known to man. 

Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years Donna Weams Bodkins; one daughter, Jennifer Bodkins Braden of Brownsville, Tennessee; one son, William Bodkins (Terri) of Bradford, Tennessee; 5 granddaughters, Morgan Bodkins, Alex Barber (Paul), Katelyn Miller (Malcolm), Sarah Bodkins, and Caroline Bodkins and 3 great grandchildren, Cayden, Brileigh, Ayden and one on the way, Cash.  

 

The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Williams Funeral Home in Greenfield, Tennessee. A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Meridian Cumberland Presbyterian Church located at 2590 Meridian Road, Greenfield, Tennessee.
