Linda Kay Perkins

Linda Kay Garner Perkins, age 81 passed over into eternal life with Jesus on June 22,
2026. Linda was born Linda Kay Garner to Leon and Sharlot Garner on June 9, 1945.
Linda married Wayne Perkins on April 24, 1964, and was a faithful wife for over 62
years. She was raised in church and attended Oak Grove Baptist Church in Dresden
until marriage; but she ultimately surrendered her life to Christ in a revival service in
1970. Linda served as a faithful servant of God along side her husband Rev. Wayne
Perkins for 35 years in various churches in Weakley and Gibson Counties. She also
served with Bro. Wayne as the Ministry Assistant for the Weakley County Baptist
Association of which he was Director of Missions for 15 years. Her strong Alto voice
blessed countless numbers of those in attendance at gospel singings across West
Tennessee as she was a member of the Family Five from 1968-1973 and later the
Melody Makers Quartet from 1973-2010. She was also known for her excellent musical
talent in playing the piano as she accompanied Wayne as well as many others for solos,
duets, etc. at funerals, weddings, and special events. Linda is survived by her
husband Wayne, and her three children, Jeff(Tammy) Perkins, Clark(Larissa) Perkins
and Wendy(Steven) Tate. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 15 great
grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sister Trudy(Eddie Joe) McKelvy and one
niece, Stephanie (Ken) Smithson. She was preceded in death by both of her parents,
and a brother Danny. Visitation will be on Wednesday June 24, 2026, at Bethel Baptist
Church in Greenfield from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and again the next morning Thursday
June 25, 2026, at Bethel Baptist Church at 9:00 am until Service time at 11:00 am.
