Mary Ellen Harris Obituary

Mary Ellen Harris was born October 26, 1947 in Greenfield, TN to Phillip and Ola Mae Featherston. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 6th, 2026 surrounded by her devoted family. Mary Ellen graduated from Greenfield High School, after graduation married the love of her life James "Jimmy" Harris of Sharon, TN. They were married in October 1965 and shared 60 wonderful years together.  Mary Ellen retired from Hubbell Lighting Company in Martin after over 30 years of service. 

Mary Ellen loved spending quality time with her husband gardening, picking blueberries, and never missing a yard sale to find a bargain. Mary Ellen was known for sharing her faith by telling everyone she met while battling a long sickness about Jesus and gifting key chains to those she came in contact with along her journey. Through her journey she met many people who became lifelong friends. 

Mary Ellen was a devoted Christian and a member of First Baptist Church in Sharon Tennessee. She loved the Lord, her husband, her daughters, her grandchildren (former favorites) and her GREAT grandchildren (the new favorites).

Mary Ellen is survived by her devoted husband Jimmy, her two loving daughters Tammy (Tim) Plunk and Teresa (Doug) Rowlett, her four grandchildren Chase (Terri) Plunk, Emily (Brent) Vickers, Sarah (Jon) Brawner and Chance (Kaycie) Plunk, six GREAT grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was proceded in death by her parents, her sister Nona Mae Cantrell, her brother Glenn Edward Featherston and two GREAT grandchildren Noah and Olivia Plunk. 

Visitation will be Wednesday June 10th, 2026 5-8 at Williams Funeral Home. Service will be on Thursday June 11th, 2026 at Sharon First Baptist Church the family will welcome visitors from 11-1 with funeral service beginning at 1. Burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
