Montez Williamson Medling was born on July 7, 1938, in Greenfield, Tennessee and
passed away peacefully on January 12, 2025 at Volunteer Community Hospital in
Martin, Tennessee at the age of 86.
Montez was the daughter of Russell Lowell and Marie Estelle Williamson of Greenfield,
Tennessee.
She married her high school sweetheart, Donald Ray Medling, on June 30,1957.
Together they had 2 children, Daphne Medling McDaniel and Dolph Ray Medling.
She worked as a legal secretary for Hearn Law Office for over forty years.
Montez was a woman of many talents and an enduring faith. She enjoyed cooking her
family Sunday dinners, attending Tennessee Vols games, and going out to eat on Friday
nights.
She was a devout Christian and a faithful member of the Greenfield Church of Christ.
Montez was a wonderful mother but thrived as a grandmother to her 3 loving
granddaughters. Her world revolved around spending time with them and caring for
them any chance she could.
Montez is survived by her daughter, Daphne Medling McDaniel and her grandchildren,
Leanna Marie McDaniel Stephenson (Brandon), Alivia Ray McDaniel McDowell
(Jonathan), and Abbey Tez McDaniel Webb (Bill). She is also survived by her 5 great
grandsons, Blaine and Britton Joes, Carter and Cooper Stephenson, and Rowan Webb.
Montez is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her son. She is also
preceded in death by her siblings, Betty Sue Cochran, Russell Williamson, Sammy
Williamson, and her good friend, Mr. Bob Hearn.
A service to celebrate Montez’s life will be held on Wednesday January 15, 2024 at
2:00pm at Williams Funeral Home of Greenfield, TN with burial to follow at Brock
Cemetery. Visitation will begin Tuesday evening at Williams Funeral Home going from 5 pm to 7pm.
