Pattie Jane Capps Boyd

Pattie Jane Capps Boyd, 82, of Cookeville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at her home on August 27, 2024. Born on August 16, 1942, in Sharon, Tennessee, to Paul and Nadine Capps, Pattie lived a life rich in love, laughter, and creativity.
A true lover of gardening, Pattie spent countless hours in her yard, nurturing flowers and shrubs.  Her green thumb leaves a legacy of beauty that will continue to bloom in her memory. Her artistic spirit extended beyond the garden; she was an accomplished painter, finding joy and expression in every brushstroke.
Pattie was known for her infectious smile, a warmth that could light up even the Sun. Her laughter and smile resonated with everyone she met, and she never met a stranger. Her open heart and genuine kindness forged friendships that stood the test of time.  She made friends quickly and made friends for life.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Kent Boyd; her two beloved sons, Brad (Cindy) Boyd and Bart (Angie) Boyd; and her cherished granddaughters, Chelsea Boyd and Rachel Boyd. She also leaves behind her dear sisters and brother, Becky (Don) Teal, Paula (Hoyt) Green, and Don (Debbie) Capps, as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
Pattie’s love extended to all creatures great and small, with the squirrels that frequented her feeder being some of her most dedicated visitors. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, from her family and friends to the wildlife that found sanctuary in her care.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests planting something beautiful in her honor, a fitting tribute to a woman who spent her life making the world more happy, colorful, and bright.

Services for Pattie will be held Friday August 30, 2024 at  3 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Greenfield. Burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Sharon. Visitation will begin Friday at 1:30 p.m. and go until time of her service at the funeral home.
