Rev. Jerry Douglas Taylor

Rev. Jerry Douglas Taylor, age 80, of Greenfield, TN passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025. 

Rev. Jerry had a very strong love and passion for serving the Lord. He served as pastor of Trinity Lighthouse Community Church for several years before his retirement in 2015. He loved studying God’s Word, witnessing to others, watching old westerns and drinking coffee. 

He was born in Alabama on January 5, 1945 to the late Tobe and Clara Taylor. He had seven brothers and four sisters. 

Rev. Jerry is survived by two sons Ben (Joralyn) Taylor of Martin, TN, and Matthew Taylor of Greenfield, TN. He is also survived by one brother Kenneth Taylor of Elk Grove Village, IL. Jerry leaves behind five grandchildren, Bethany Moore, Jared Taylor, Courtney (Adam) Cochran, Austin (Casey) Taylor and Madison Taylor and six great grandchildren, Malivia Moore, Aiden Moore, Gatlin Taylor, Miles Taylor, Emery Taylor, and Hunter Reed Taylor.

In addition to his parents, six brothers and four sisters, Rev. Jerry was preceded in death by his first wife of 48 years Ilene Taylor (2012), his second wife of 9 years Linda Taylor (2023), one son Christopher Douglas Taylor (2014) and one grandson Hunter Scott Taylor (2011). 

Visitation will be held at Williams Funeral Home in Greenfield, TN beginning at 11am on May 28th and running until service time at 2pm. Burial will follow in Brock’s Cemetery in Greenfield. Pastor Troy Craft will officiate the services.
