William Kevin Canaday of Gleason, Tennessee, passed away on August 31, 2025. Visitation will begin Thursday September 4th at 1p.m. and go until the time of his service at 3p.m. at Gleason Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was born on November 12, 1955 in McKenzie, Tennessee to Harold and Jean Canaday.
Kevin married his wife and best friend, Carolyn, on November 17, 1979. She was the love of his life that
he knew he would marry after their very first date. Along with Carolyn, Kevin had two sons, Kelvin and
Jacob aka Coach Canaday and two daughters-in-law, Sarah and Autumn, that he greatly loved. His
grandchildren, Tanner and Elizabeth, loved their “Grandpa” and “Papa,” and he loved them both with all
of his heart. In all that he did, he always put his family before himself.
For over 30 years, Kevin worked for the State of Tennessee Department of Revenue. During that time
for 17 summers, he coached his sons’ youth baseball teams. Since retiring in 2016, he enjoyed taking
care of his cattle and working on his farm. Most importantly, though, he loved being with Carolyn and
his family.
Kevin was a faithful member of the Gleason Cumberland Presbyterian Church and served for a number
of years as an Elder and Treasurer.
No one had a better laugh than Kevin. A great laugh is in short supply, but Kevin had one of the best.
An incomparable, quick wit to go along with his contagious laugh was a combination that Kevin
possessed and both were highly infectious.
No person on the planet could care as much for those that he loved than Kevin. If Kevin loved you and
cared about you, then you did not need anyone else in your corner.
He was the Best Husband, Best Dad, Best Grandpa or Papa, Best Friend, and Best Person one could ever
ask for or know.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Gleason
Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
